Medical Training
FHADIMAC is the only foundation in Haiti capable of providing adequate training to medical professionals and their affiliated centers on diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Participating institutions include Université Notre Dame, Université de Quiskeya, Université Lumière, Université Royale d’Haïti and Université d’État Haïti.
Dr. Nancy Charles Larco, FHADIMAC’s Executive Director, leads a series of medical training conferences on diabetes and cardiovascular disease. This training program is offered to medical professionals and to the personnel of FHADIMAC's affiliated centers. FHADIMAC has provided training to hundreds of medical professionals and continues to expand this program.
The organization is also approached daily by NGOs to assist in developing and implementing programs on diabetesand cardiovascular diseases' management. Partners In Health (PIH) partnered with FHADIMAC to reach PIH’s goal of training 600 health professionals over three years from January 2015 to June 2017 and in 2019 at the University Hospital of Mirebalais, Haiti.
Currently, the Ministry of Public Health (MSPP) has signed an MOU with FHADIMAC where it is mentioned assistance to launch a National Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease Plan that will include being the reference center to all training and treatment of diabetic and cardioovascular diseases care.
